2 computers are set up as a small business network.
One runs Word 98 and the other computer runs the latest version of word.
When i access files from the XP, word opens them as read only on the other
computer. I cannot save files on the other computer.
I am not sure if this is a network problem or word problem (we are using
different versions of word).

More than likely it's a network permissions issue - especially if you
are unable to save files on the other computer.
