Word 2002 Printing Problem with Gradient
Hello,
I have a Word 2002 document (Win XP Pro) with a filled-in box with transparency and a gradient. However, when I print the document the transparency is ignored and also the gradient is ignored. I've tried this on two separate printers, one an Epson and the other a Canon, with exactly the same results. Searched the web but no joy. Is anyone familiar with this problem and can you please help me??? THANKS!!! |

Word 2002 Printing Problem with Gradient
From what I've read When you first print out the word document with the
gradient, it will just print out the plain text without the gradient in place. In order to print the text with the gradient you have to enable Background Colors and Images. To do so...from the "Print" window select "Options", then from the "Include with Document" select "Background Colors and Images". I don't see that option in the place you mentioned on Word 2002.

Word 2002 Printing Problem with Gradient
The option was new in Word 2003. The only way to print a background in
earlier versions is to save the document as a Web page, open it in a browser, change the Internet Options setting to print the background, and print from the browser. That assumes you're using a "background." If you're using a shape (text box or rectangle) filled with a gradient and formatted as Behind Text, this does not apply. Word does not handle gradients and transparency well. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA http://word.mvps.org "Toni" wrote in message ... Word 2002 Printing Problem with Gradient
I just upgraded to Office 2003 yesterday, and yes, I now see the option in Word 2003.
Word 2003 now handles gradients better when printing, but does not print transparencies well. "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote... The option was new in Word 2003. Word 2002 Printing Problem with Gradient
In Publisher we advise copying the transparency, paste special as .png. This
usually results in a transparency that works. -- Mary Sauer MVP http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Toni" wrote in message ...
