Default Can't edit header depth

I have a 300 page document with soft break sections.
At the fourth break, the header depth changes from two line spaces to four
inches. All settings for page set-up and margins are exactly like the
previous settings. Do I have a corrupted document or is there a way to fix
this?

If the vertical alignment of the section is set to Top (Layout tab of Page
Setup), then display nonprinting characters (Ctrl+*) and make sure you don't
have any extra, empty paragraphs.
