Default Need to modify header of all new documents.

Hello,

I'm trying to edit the header so that all new documents are created with the
current date and time and with my name and iniitals. I figure I'm going to
have to edit the normal.dot file, but when I tried (by opening it, making a
change and saving it back as a template, the changes didn't take.

What did I do wrong?

Thanks,

Jeff

You really don't want to add a header to Normal.dot, anyway. Messes up
labels.

Create a separate template. Modifying normal.dot that way will screw up far
more than you think.
