Default Renew Norton 360?

I have Word 2007, I.E. 7, and my subscription to Norton 360 will expire in
ten days. I've heard it's not that great, and I personally think it slows
down my computer a lot. I use Adware. Is there a better product or some
other things I can use - such as, does Microsoft have a built-in product,
other than its firewall - that might be worthwhile? Thanks for any input.

Norton has always had big feet so I am not surprised that it slows your PC,
though much the same can be said for any all singing all dancing security
solutions. Personally I manage quite well with the free version of AVG8 with
the web link checker part omitted.
