I opened Word 2003 XP Office Home Edition and clicked on "new" document icon,
then "chart" icon. The chart that came up I edited and added subordinate, associate, etc, then filled in the little balloons with the info I wanted. I clicked save and saved it as a document.I closed out Word and later went to get that saved chart, and the document opened but no chart, just this: {SHAPE\*MERGEFORMAT}. Whassup? I tried to recreate the chart and just did a little of a new one and saved that one, came back to open it and same message as before on the page of the document. No chart. HELP! -- Christine |

Hit Alt-F9 to toggle between showing field codes and field results. Those
curly braces denote a field. On 12/10/04 9:37 AM, "Christine" wrote: I opened Word 2003 XP Office Home Edition and clicked on "new" document icon, then "chart" icon. Ah! God bless you! Why are my charts doing that? Will I have to do that
everytime I save a chart? "Daiya Mitchell" wrote: Hit Alt-F9 to toggle between showing field codes and field results. Those curly braces denote a field. No, for some reason you've got field display toggled in Tools | Options |
View. If it's set correctly when you close Word, it should be set correctly when you open a document. If not, just press Alt+F9. -- Suzanne S.
