When printing documents using the print function in Word 2002/2003 (not
altering the printer driver settings), selecting to print multiple pages in
one, it will only print blank pages. (i.e. when printing 8 pages seletcting
4 in 1 page will give 2 blank pages, ... etc.) It occurs often during the
first printing job after system start up (about 20 - 30 %) and will resume
normal after then. Any idea?

I suggest you try asking this in the word.printingfonts newsgroup. Be sure to
mention which printer you have, and which version of Windows.

FWIW, the first thing I'd probably try is replacing the printer driver with the
latest version from the manufacturer's website.

We have tried the print job on HP4050N and Ricoh AP400N printer with newer
and older version of print driver, from direct attached to LPT port to IP
printing. The results are the same. We even tried to create a fresh image
with only the OS(w2k, XP) and MS Office (2k, XP & 2k3) but the problem still
exist. Beside printing a blank page, sometimes it will print what we've set
(e.g. 9 pages in 1) but the image size of each page is less than 1 cm.
