I want to merge 8 distinct documents into 1 master document. Each
distinct document has numbered requirements in it, and I need to make sure I maintain the integrity of the numbered lists. When I do an insert Text, I lose my numbers. When I do insert object, i get the first page, but that's it. Surely there is some way around this? |

To give you suggestions, we need to know more about your project 1. Version of Word? 2. Are you using styles? (Do you know how to use styles?) 3. If you are, are you linking the numbering to styles? 4. Have you set up a single template for all the documents (including the Master)? You may want to take a look at this article to get some background on possible approaches for retaining numbering restarts http://www.syntagma.demon.co.uk/FAQs...artMethods.htm Cindy Meister INTER-Solutions, Switzerland http://homepage.swissonline.ch/cindymeister (last update Jun 17 2005) http://www.word.mvps.org This reply is posted in the Newsgroup; please post any follow question or reply in the newsgroup and not by e-mail :-) |
