Default How do I stop word 2003 from opening with gridlines showing I can.

I have a new computer and now with Word 2003 when I open a new document the
gridlines show. I have tried everything to turn them off but cannot find a
solution as to how to.

You can turn off the drawing grid (if that is the grid you mean) from the
drawing toolbar draw grid.
You can turn off the table grid lines from table show/hide grid
and
"Margin marks or crop marks appear on each corner of the page when you
open a document in Word 2002 or in Word 2003"
