Default parenthesis in equation editor

I just updated a computer to XP. Now when I open documents that have
equations made with equation editor all the parenthesis in each equation are
a d athe the beginning of the equation and an i atthe end of the equation.
The d's and i's used to be parenthesis. I have another computer and the
parenthesis are there.

Thanks,

In the Equation Editor's menu, click Style Define. Make sure the two
Greek entries and the Symbol entry point to the Symbol font, and all
the others point to some "ordinary" font such as Times New Roman.

Thanks, but I figured it out. There was a font called fences that was
missing. I installed it and now the parenthesis are there. Thanks for your
help.
