Default Disappearing paste options in Word 2007

I am having a minor but very annoying problems with Word 2007.
When I paste text into a Word document, the Paste Options button appears at
the end of the insertion, as it should. However, once i click on it to get
the dropdown list of options, the button disappears before I can make a
choice.
Does anyone know what is causing this or, better yet, how to cure it? I have
run at least one installation repair without any change.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I don't know, but my best guess would be some kind of Add-in. If you hold down
Ctrl when starting Word, to go into Safe Mode, does the problem go away while
you're in Safe Mode?

Thank you, Cindy.
It did work in Safe Mode. I removed all the PDF Maker add-ins from various
programs, and now it works fine, just the way it's supposed to.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
