Default how can I proofread a document and include proof marks?

I was sent a document to proofread, and when I made the changes the
proofreading marks appeared automatically. I saved the document under another
name. I wanted to proofread the original document again, but the marks did
not appear again. How can I set the document so that the proofreading marks
appear again automatically?
