Default insert file name/path in footer

Header/Footer - I am unable to insert autotext (file name & path) into my
footer. It is greyed out. I have been doing this for years and cannot for the
life of me find the answer. Please Help. In anticipation of some clever
problem solving assistance.

Possibly you've overwritten the Normal.dot template with a
regular document? Close Word, and rename your Normal.dot
template as described in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...ocNotBlank.htm . Start
Word, and try to insert an autotext. If it works, you can copy
your customizations from the old normal.dot to the new one by
using the Organizer tool as described in the aforementioned article.
