How do I change the number of default columns? (There are 2.)
When I open a new Word document, the "columns" setting is set at 2. How can I
change the default so that there is only one column in my documents by default, unless I change it? |

Locate and open your normal.dot file as described in Method 1 in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...ocNotBlank.htm . Click on Format | Columns | One | Apply to: Whole document | OK. Type a character or two and delete what you just typed. Save the normal.dot file and close it. steverny wrote: When I open a new Word document, the "columns" setting is set at 2.
