Default how do i stop .doc file from converting to .ink file

when i complete assignments for class. i save them on my computer as .doc
files. I submit them to my professor they automatically convert to .ink file.
the professor is unable to open

Default how do i stop .doc file from converting to .ink file

Files don't change extension automatically. How do you submit them to your
professor? Are you using some kind of website / tool to upload them? If so,
you might want to check out what the tool does with them.

They aren't "converting". All you are doing is sending your professor a link
to the shortcut. You need to make sure you attach the .doc file.

They aren't "converting". All you are doing is sending your professor a link

I think you'll find that the extension is ".lnk" (with an ell) rather
than ".ink", and that means it's a shortcut to the document and not
the document itself. Since your professor doesn't have any way to
follow the shortcut back to your computer, it isn't surprising that
s/he can't open it.

Are you submitting the document by email? If so, use the email
program's Attach File command instead of drag-and-drop. If instead
you're copying the document to a file server, use the copy and paste
commands.
