Default I accidentally replaced one document with another! Help!

I accidentally replaced one document with another. I had a list saved of
Names and then I replaced it by accident with a document that I had already
created that was a Business Letter and saved it as Names replacing the
original.

Is there anyway I can get the original list of Names?

Thanks!

Not if you (1) have closed that document or (2) didn't make a backup copy.

....only if you have a backup copy. Look for files named Backup of... in the
same folder as the original file.

The document is closed and there isn't a backup copy. It was just a document
that I made at the spur of the moment! Of course, it's always those that you
don't backup that you lose I suppose.

No, no such file exists. Oh well, it was silly of me to have done that.
Thanks so much!
