I currently have Office 2003, and I want to upgrade to Office 2007 and do not
want to lose all my AutoCorrect data. I have looked everywhere and cannot find the procedure to do this. Also, is there a specific way I need to download the new software? (ie. uninstall 2003 then install 2007) Any help would be great! Thanks |

Hi,
Unfortunately, I know of no way to do this. I was *told* that migrating my settings through the files and settings transfer wizard would work (it's integrated into Vista) but it didn't. Some things transferred. My AutoCorrect data did not. The best advice I can give you is to print out your entries and manually reenter in 2007. Inelegant and a bit of a pain, but the only way I know how. This KB will tell you how to print out your AutoCorrect entries. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/212518 Sorry, ml "cry1rose" wrote: I currently have Office 2003, and I want to upgrade to Office 2007 and do not want to lose all my AutoCorrect data. As mentioned in this link, plain text AutoCorrect entries are stored in a
..acl file. I have both Word2003 and Word2007 installed on my PC. If I make an AC entry in Word2003 that same entry is available in Word2007. Formatted autotext entries are a different matter. They are stored in the normal.dot. I haven't tried the methods that Dave proposes so I can't say if it will work or not. http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customizat...utocorrect.htm The following may make things a little easier if you have to re-create some of your entries. http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/AutoCorrect_Generator.htm -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Greg Maxey - Word MVP My web site http://gregmaxey.mvps.org Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ cry1rose wrote: I currently have Office 2003, and I want to upgrade to Office 2007 and do not want to lose all my AutoCorrect data. Thank you Greg! I've been searching for this answer myself.
