I work for a school system and I have had a couple of reported issues of this
happening. This is in Office 2003. When typing text, after several lines
are types, the document closes itself. It does not save the text or
document, it just closes and goes back to your desktop. You have to reopen
word and start your document over again. It happens very frequently,
sometimes ever few sentences.

I thought this may be a hardware issue of some kind with Dell, but I guess
maybe not. This is using a Dell Vostro and Dell Latitude laptop while also
using Microsoft Office 2003. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

is this happening with the same document? With documents created from
the same template? With (each?) "New" document?

I recommend starting up Word in Safe mode to see if that helps, and
re-registring can't really hurt either.
