change hover-over cursor appearance
I'm working with a lengthy procedure document that's linked to numerous
templates. We're resigned to the fact that you can't hyperlink the templates directly and create a new document based on the template. So, we settled on creating command buttons which *look* like hyperlinks, i.e., blue underlined text. Problem is, when you cursor over these command buttons, you get an I-beam cursor, not the "hand" cursor people expect to see when hovering over a hyperlink. Is there a way to change the cursor appearance to a hand when (and only when...) hovering over a command button??? TIA!! Cal Peters Grandville, MI |

change hover-over cursor appearance
Hi Cal,
What version of Word are you using, are these links within a Word document to Word templates or... (what is the process that are trying to achieve)? ================= "drivingme crazy" wrote in message ... I'm working with a lengthy procedure document that's linked to numerous templates. change hover-over cursor appearance
Hi Bob,
sorry...it's Word 2002 SP3. Yes it is a Word document that links to Word templates. My original thought was to do the procedures doc as an html doc and use hyperlinks to the templates, but hyperlinks open the templates directly, and you can't directly create a new document based on the template, thus my strategy shifted to doing it as a Word doc with macro buttons which create the new docs based on the templates referenced. Hope that makes sense... But I'd still like to mimic the behavior of a hyperlink in that when the user hovers the cursor over one of the macro "buttons" (appearing as hyperlink text) the cursor appearance changes to a hand. Is there a (hopefully simple) way to do this?? Thanks!! "Bob Buckland ?:-)" wrote: Hi Cal, What version of Word are you using, are these links within a Word document to Word templates or... change hover-over cursor appearance
Hi Cal,
Actually you can create a new document from a template via a hyperlink but you have to 'cheat' a bit on what you link 'through' to get *to* the template http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278627/en-us?FR=1 ============= "drivingme crazy" wrote in message ... change hover-over cursor appearance
Hi, Bob
thanks for the tip/KB....We did look at that....but viewed it as a "6 of one half dozen of the other" situation. Our main procedures document is already in word, so we wouldn't have to convert it to html and retrain everyone to use IE to see/use the procedures. Text macro buttons aren't the end of the world....and they do work with minimal effort to make them. I'd just like to change the hover-over cursor appearance if I could.... Is it possible?? Thanks. cal "Bob Buckland ?:-)" wrote: Hi Cal, Actually you can create a new document from a template via a hyperlink but you have to 'cheat' a bit on what you link 'through' to get *to* the template http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278627/en-us?FR=1 |
