I am writing a technical document to conform to the standard that the body of
the text is numbered 1, 2, 3 with subsections 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 and so on. The figures are to be numbered according to their section but not their subsection, thus 'Figure 1-1', 'Figure 2-1' and so on. The Appendices are to be designated as Appendix A, Apeendix B, with subsections A.1, B.1 and so on, and figures 'Figure A-1' for example. How do I do it? I need this explained at the level of every keystroke. My skills are in developing aeroplanes and spacecraft, not in deciphering menus. Thanks |
