Default Word 2007 - insert symbol menu shows all "?"s

has anyone encountered in Word 2007 that when you go to insert a symbol, all
you see are question marks instead of what the symbols are supposed to look
like? If so, does anyone have a fix? or know why it's happening? thanks!

Sounds like you Symbol font has gotten uninstalled? Make sure it's in
the Windows Fonts folder and behaving ok there.

By default, however, the Symbol dialog shows "(normal text)," not the Symbol
font.

Well, OP did say "symbol" and not "letter" or "character."

Agreed, but most of the symbols you want can be found in "(normal text)."

Hi Wander88,

Are you in the Word 2007's
Insert=Symbol=More Symbols
and if so what is this true if you change the Font Name selected?

What is the default input language in your document?
