Default Sharing New Building Blocks Template

In Word 2007, I created a template called Letterhead.dotx and added some
selections to the quick parts gallery in the new template. The quick parts
entries work fine for me. However, I sent the template to a co-worker who
put in her C:\Documents and Settings\UserID\Application
Data\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks\1033. We want it to be available to
all letters.

When she opens word and tries to insert quick parts, the Letterhead.dotx
entries do not appear and she can't choose from them. How do we get the
entries to appear on her computer as well? Thanks!

Assuming you are using US English, that should work (if not try putting it
in the Document Building Blocks folder itself). Are you quite sure the Quick
Parts are in that Template?

Default Sharing New Building Blocks Template

Hi hlock,

If she uses Insert=Quick Parts=Building Block Organizer (you can right click on the organizer entry to add it to the Quick Access
Toolbar) does that template appear in the list of Building Block templates?

If not, then check
Office Button=Word Options=Popular=[Language Settings]
to see if the primary editing language is set to English U.S.

If that is correct then you may want to double check the organizer to see if the entries are in the Letters template rather than in
your regular building block template.

You might also try promoting the Letters.dotx template up one level rather than have it in the \1033 (U.S. English) subfolder.
