Word XP. I have several customized toolbars in customized templates. The toolbars have started to move around. I move them
back, edit, close, reopen, and they've moved around again. This is no good. I do NOT have the options checked for show most recently used commands. Lady Dungeness Out of Danger until September ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ |

I checked -- there are NO add-ins. I looked in the D&S folders and in the "templates & add-ins" dialog. Is there another
place? I thought I had an adobe v5 pdf writer someplace, but I cannot find it. These messed up toolbars and find/replace dialogs are driving me crazy! It is famous for messing up toolbars. -- Regards Jonathan West - Word MVP www.intelligentdocuments.co.uk Please reply to the newsgroup |

Yes, v. 5. I've had it installed for several years, along with Word XP, and they have been playing nicely together. Once I
started making some customized templates, though, all H*** broke loose. I cannot find the adobe PDF add-in. If I could, I would move it out of the folder until I need it again. Can you help? If I could, I would move it out of the folder until I need it again. Can you help? The Adobe PDFMaker addin is notorious for this - even if it is no longer in operation, the crud it leaves behind causes trouble. Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\STARTUP If there are files names "PDFMaker.dot" or similar, close Word, and then move them out of that folder. The chances are also quite high that normal.dot has got corrupted, so a fresh copy of that is probably a good idea. Navigate to your user templates folder (probably C:\Documents and Settings\username\Microsoft\Templates, where username is the name you use to log on.) Rename normal.dot to oldnormal.dot. This way, any corruption in the toolbars and add-ins is no longer going to affect everything you do, but you can still get at any VBA code in the old normal.dot if you need to. Now restart Word and see if things start behaving better. If problems continue, post back here with a more detailed description of precisely what happens. -- Regards Jonathan West - Word MVP www.intelligentdocuments.co.uk Please reply to the newsgroup |

Something's wrong. My C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\STARTUP folder is Empty. I have printed to adobe, so the
add-in must be somewhere. Query: You said the add-in is no longer used. ??? I have Word XP and Adobe Acrobat v5. I think I have to use it, don't I?
