Default Can you add a selection to the footer built-in options?

I would like to add filepath and name. I use this all the time and do not
want to go through the many steps to get to this option.

Filename and path is one of the autotext entries that can be inserted into
the footer via the Headers and Footer toolbar.

If you do not want to have to do that for each document, create a new
template in which you set up a footer containing that information (inserted
from the Headers and Footers toolbar), save that template and then use it as
the basis for the documents that you want to create.

It is NOT recommended that you make this modification to the normal.dot
template.

Hope this helps.

Erin,

As an alternative to Doug's solution, if you are using Word 2007 you can
insert the FILENAME field in a document and then save it as a Building Block
of the Footer gallery.
