When I apply the style I've named NOTE, I want a check box to appear as well
as the word "NOTE." I've got the check box showing up as part of the NOTE style, but can't figure out how to add text (the word "NOTE.") to the style. I'm using Word 2003. |

Provided your check box is from the default paragraph font (that is,
provided you insert a check box dingbat from Insert | Symbol set to "(normal text)" and not a Wingdings character), you can combine the check box with text in a "numbered" style. For more on this type of "numbering," see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/QandA.htm -- Suzanne S.
