In Word 2003, there was a line at the bottom of the screen that showed the
document section number as well as the "page x of y" numbers. The section
number seems to have vanished in W2007; where do I find it again?

Right-click the status bar (the "line at the bottom of the screen") and
click any of the items in the popup menu that you want to display.
