My auto text completely stopped working (does not give me a prompt to press
"enter" to accept). The F3 button does work but this is very inconvenient
for me. How can I get word to start prompting again so I can press the enter
key to accept?

Do you have AutoComplete enabled in the Insert | AutoText | AutoText dialog?
