Default Default Problem for New Word Documents (2007)

Hi!
I'm struggling to change the default settings (font, size, line spacing,
etc) for New Word Documents.
I have used the Office Button to change the default settings for normal
template - which has changed correctly. When I open a new word document
using the Start button, it opens with the new changed default. The file's
name is: Doc 1.

BUT, when I have opened a folder and wants to create a New Word file,
clicking on FILE, then on NEW and then on Word document, IT USES THE OLD
DEFAULT! This file's name is: New Word Document. How come they have 2
different names?
Please help because this is very annoying since I mostly uses the second
option and can't seem to change the default.
Thanks for the help
