Partly because Vista is forcing me to consider Linux, partly because Office is driving me away. I've been trying to use OpenOffice (on Linux) for a couple of weeks while my PC is kaput, and it's missing some of the most basic functions, such as unlimited assignable keyboard shortcuts -- to apply small capitals I have to do Format Character Effects Small Capitals, and it's not one of the features available in the list of things to which shortcuts can be assigned. "Insert File" puts a page break before the inserted file. Ctrl-S (Save) moves the cursor to (AFAICT) where it was the last time the document was saved. |
