With Word 2007, I have a folder of Word files open. I open the
desired file with a double click, edit, and SaveAs a new file with a different file name. When I close all documents, but leave the Word instance open, there is a temp file to the first document opened still in the folder. I want to move the original file into another folder, but Word tells me I can't because it's still in use. Why won't closing the document kill all temp files? Why does Word keep control of this document until I quit Word? Ed |

I believe this is rather common when you Save As. Exiting Word should fix it
(if it doesn't see http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm). -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Ed from AZ" wrote: With Word 2007, I have a folder of Word files open.
