the mouse will not select text. ( click and drag for selecting) nor will
the arrow keys work or the short cut keys.. I suspect that a short cut key
was accidentally pressed but I cant find these symptoms anywhere .. please
help.

it is not the mouse the mouse works in other programs.. it is not the
key board we tested that too. we have shut down and restarted the computer
multiple times and that has not helped.
