Default Keys inadvertently repeat

For some reason unknown to me, keys will suddenly repeat about 10-15 times
when I am typing in either Word or Mail. I'm not holding down the key, and
there appears to be no pattern to it. I've used two different keyboards
(both Microsoft keyboards) and it still happen; so I know it's not a problem
with my keyboard. I'm currently using the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic
Keyboard 4000. I've re-installed the driver, but that hasn't solved the
problem. Any help out there?

Did you ever spill something on the keyboard?

Check the Control Panel for things like repeat rate -- maybe it's set
very low so that touching the key for more than a moment causes it to
keep firing.

Default Keys inadvertently repeat

Hello Grammatim:

No, I have never spilled anything on my keyboard; I'm hyper-careful about
that. Since the repeat problem occurred with two different keyboards, I feel
fairly confident it's not a problem with the keyboard hardware.

I have taken your suggestion and changed the sensitivity of the repeat
feature, as well as slowing down the repeat rate. I'll see if that solves
the problem.

Thanks for your ideas.
