Default Show Track Changes deleted text as crossed-out in place

I would like to compare 2 documents and create a third with the differences.
In past attempts, the third document shows deleted text on the side of the
page (as in Track Changes), but I would like to have the deletions in their
original places in the text, but crossed out. Is there a way to do this?

Thank you.

Disable balloons (Tools | Options | Track Changes) or view the document in
Normal view.
