how to add a double underbar in an equation
When you have a result in an equation, you are supposed to double underline
it... How can you do this in the equation editor in word 2007? It is so simple in equation 3.0, that I can only believe that it has been left out by the gravest mistake... Which should be punished severely :-) (joking) |

Which should be punished severely :-) (joking) I agree it's odd that this has been omitted. [I don't think that double underlining is something you should really do (there are better ways to format something important, like bold), but that's not really the point here ... :-)] So, I guess I'd "cheat" a little. Unfortunately, you cannot use the double underline from the font menu (as this seems to underline the whole equation). Well, you conceivably *could* split up the equation and then only underline the result like this. Another thing I just tested is to use a borderless 2x1 matrix where the result goes, leave the lower position empty but assign it a double upper line. Then select the whole matrix and, through the context menu (right mouse button) set the matrix aligment to "top." Looks surprisingly good here. A hack, certainly!
