When I add a caption to a figure in my Appendix B, it's automatically
numbered "Figure 1.5". I need it to appear as "Figure B.1". I've tried these two solutions: 1. Change number of Heading 6 style to "Appendix B", create a label "Figure_Apx", apply Heading 6 style to caption, delete "_Apx". 2. Create caption, hit Alt+F9 & change Styleref & SEQ as described in WordMVP. Neither method seems to work. Thanks in advance for your reply. |

I wonder what "in WordMVP" means exactly, but the authoritative resource for this would probably be Shauna's article: How to number headings and figures in Appendixes in Microsoft Word http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...ppendixes.html Neither method seems to work. "Does not (seem to) work" makes it very hard to give advice. Shauna's approach is to create the figure caption once, then correct it and create an AutoText from the result.
