Default missing back button after navigating via hyperlink cross reference

I do not see a back button after I click on a hyperlink cross reference (eg,
Table 1). I believe it should appear, but I do not see it.

The Back button is on the Web toolbar, which used to be displayed by default
when you clicked on a hyperlink, but many users found this undesirable, so
it no longer is. You can choose to display the Web toolbar, or you can add
the Back button to some other toolbar, or you can use the keyboard shortcut,
Alt+Left Arrow.
