starts 1!?

Are you maybe in a new Section?

What happens if you add a footnote within the text, between two
existing footnotes?

the numbering is correct when i insert a footnote between 2 footnotes and No
Its not in the new section!

I have to change footnotes to continuous then back to "Restart every Page"
to have the numbering corrected! (no need for this when i insert a footnote
between 2)

You didn't say you wanted Restart Every Page. One rarely or never sees
that any more. I can see how that might confuse a computer that had
been numbering endnotes consecutively from start to finish.

Okay Wait!
For me the numbering jumps from 1, 4, 1313.
I am in the same section, no restart, always continous.
Please help I want the simplest possible affect. 1,2,3, etc.

That sounds totally weird (and not like the same problem Leon was
having). Maybe you have a corrupted document and Open Repair would
help?
