Default How do I lock my freakin' Toolbars? I have to rearrange them e

Hi Bill: can you help with a simple problem? I have am unable to use the
"Show Standard and Formatting toolbars on two rows" option when I open Word:
the check box is greyed-out, and I have no idea why. This has just started,
without any concious actions on my behalf. If I access the options through
"tools" or "view" I get the same result: a greyed- out check box. Is there
something wrong with my global template? Does anyone know? Can you send a
bit of advice to me at - ? Thanks

Because Linux is merely an Operating System and not a word-processor.

If you want a basic word-processor that you can type a simple letter without
all of the features of Word, Windows does come with WordPad. It should be
under "Start", "Programs", "Accessories".

As far as Word is concerned, if your toolbars are moving every time you open
Word (as your Subject line states), you probably have a problem with your
global template file (normal.dot). This file maintains all of your normal
settings like toolbar locations, page size view, etc. It could be locked
due to a computer lockup with Word open and it is unable to change your
toolbar location settings.

If you would provide a little more specifics about your problem, like which
toolbars, what you are trying to do, which version of Word you are using,
etc., we would be more than happy to provide instructions to fix.

The only thing that will be sent to your email address, if you use it in a
forum such as this, is spam. This is not a help desk. You must come here for
the replies.

The probable reason for your dilemma is a minor corruption in the Word data
key in the registry. Delete or rename that key. -
