Default Page numbers

My page numbers will go up to 99 and then they start over again. Why?

Default Page numbers

Is it possible they're inside a text box that's two characters wide,
so the leftmost digit is hidden?

You could simply delete the text box containing the page number and
click Insert Page Number again, and it should give you the digits
without the box. (The box can also mess up your margin measurements.)
