can't open old document in word 2007
I have a document created with Word 2000. When I try to open it in Word 2007,
I get a window entitled File Conversion and it says in the window: Select the encoding that makes your document readable. I select Windows (Default) but it doesn't open the document. Please note also 1) it does NOT say Compatability Mode in the title bar of Word 2007 and 2) in the preview pane of the File Conversion window it says: This program cannot be run in DOS mode (among other funny characters) and 3) the same thing happens with all my old documents. Thanks for any help. |

Have you tried Open and Repair? If that doesn't work, it may not be possible
to retrieve the contents. :-( -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "grahams" wrote in message ... I have a document created with Word 2000.
