Word 2002, Win NT
I've followed all the instructions at http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...Numbering.html and got my headings basically sorted and numbering correctly (finally !). However, I want to use my Heading 3 level both for normal text paras and also for items in a table, with the first being large and bolded, and the table version being smaller font and non-bold. Is there some way of setting this up (i.e. two styles pointing to same level) as Shauna recommends not using the Format menu to update the formatting and this is the only way I can see of doing it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Serena |

You can base a style on Heading 3 and then customize the font settings that
you want different. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Serena" wrote in message ... If I set up the new style and then Modify that style using Format, Numbering,
Outline Number, Customise to change the font, it then associates that level with my new style and the headers originally on that level lose their numbering rules for the old style. Is there a different way of changing the font settings for the new style so that it doesn't screw up either the numbering or the formatting of the existing style ? You can change any aspect of a style based on a numbered style, except for
its numbering settings. It should be quite sufficient to modify the font of the style; the formatting of the outline number should follow. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Serena" wrote in message ...
