Default DELETE UNUSUAL LINES

I originally installed two lines as a graphic--I drew them in. Now, they have
turned into something else. I can not select and delete them. I can move
them--when I cursor over it there is a double sided arrow that will allow me
to move it up and down, that's it. They get deleted sometimes ONLY when I
delete from the end of a line of text. But then they come back. Now, I just
bulleted a lot of text and all of a suddent the lines are showing up
everywhere! They came up above and below each paragraph. Please help me get
rid of these mutant lines! They are replicating and driving me crazy!

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...tRidOfLine.htm, but note that
if this provides the solution, then you did *not* draw the lines as a
graphic.
