Blue Wavy Line
Hello
I am using Word 2007, the document has been saved as a ".docx" word document, I have a couple of paragraphs that contain both character and paragraph direct formatting which is different from the underlying "Normal" style. I have other "Normal" paragraphs with no direct formatting. The word options/advanced/"Keep track of formatting" and "Mark formatting inconsistencies" check boxes are both on. Both "Reveal Formatting" and the "Styles Inspector" indicate that direct formatting has been applied and yet the blue wavy line does not appear, I understand that this sould also indicate that direct formatting has been applied. Are there any other settings that should be applied or have I misunderstood what the blue wavy line represents? Any help in clearing this up will be appreciated! Thanks in advance |

Blue Wavy Line
According to Word Help:
Blue wavy underlines Word uses wavy blue underlines to indicate possible instances of inconsistent formatting. But you're not the only one in a cloud as to what that ambiguous description is intended to infer :-) As far as I can determine, the line is most likely to occur if you have multiple instances of the same formatting which has been applied by differing methods. I.E., in one place using a style, in another place directly applying the same attributes as that style. It isn't strictly limited to any particular style or indicative of direct formatting if it doesn't mimic a style used elsewhere in the document. Perhaps one of the more enlightened ones will jump in here. -- HTH |:) Bob Jones Office:Mac MVP "Marco18+" wrote in message ...
