Default How can is keep a table's headings in constant view?

When working in a table, head repeat does not always keep headings in view.
How can I keep them in view all of the time? Preferably just above the row
in which plan to enter data.

You could split the window:
Select Window Split (in case of Word 2007: View tab Window group
Split) which divides the window into two panes by inserting a split bar (you
can move the split bar as desired but you cannot freeze the panes as in
Excel).
In the topmost pane, scroll so that you can see the table headings.
In the bottom pane, you can then view any part of the table and use the
headings in the topmost pane to guide you (the panes need to be in the same
zoom).

The split bar can be removed either by double-clicking it, by dragging it to
the top/bottom of the window or by selecting Window Remove Split (Word
2007: View tab Window group Remove Split).

In Word 2010, highlight the row that you want to appear on each page as a header.
Then in ribbon Table Tools, choose Layout, then Properties.
Under row, check "repeat as header row at top of each page."
The titles will appear on the table on each page.
