I have a word table that is currently legal size and I need to attach it to
another document that is letter size. I cannot get it to reduce to letter size. What might I be doing wrong? |

Have you changed the paper size in Page Setup?

Also have you looked that the Table Properties? If the table is defined to be
a certain specific width (measured in inches or centimeters depending on your settings) rather than a percentage, when you paste it into your letter size page it will retain those exact measurements - even if it runs over the margins. Change the width of the table and you should be sweet. -- Cheers! Gordon Bentley-Mix Word MVP Please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup. Indeed. I overlooked the information that this was a table (and quite
possibly in Landscape orientation). -- Suzanne S. He means length ... down in Gordon's hemisphere, they size paper with
those numbers (A4, etc.) but legal is just letter-size paper that's 14" instead of 8.5" long. Things you could do to shorten it include reducing the font size, reducing the cell top & bottom borders to 0 (that's the "Options" button in the Table Properties panel, under either "Table" or "Cell"), and changing the Paragraph Spacing to Exactly some smaller number than it is. I figured maybe Gordon was assuming (rather astutely, actually) that the
table might be broadside (i.e., the paper in landscape orientation), in which case a table sized for Letter (11") would not automatically expand to fit 14" paper unless the width were set to 100%. -- Suzanne S.
