Default Date Picker is a Quitter

I have been setting up a template for a few days now (pathetic, I know) and
the drop down calendar keeps changing to a text content control. The
calendar drop down just disappears. One minute it is there and then it's
gone.

I start over and get it back but then it leaves again. Is it possible this
feature actually doesn't really work? Or is it me - could it be me? I am
following step by step instructions. Maybe there is a step that is left out?

Please help. I really need to get this thing done and move on.

Hope you didn't think it would because - no. I am looking for serious,
helpful responses.

Thank you.

One of your questions was "Is it possible this
feature actually doesn't really work?"

I believe that my response answered that question for you and perhaps,
obliquely one or more of your other questions.

Try with a new document. Maybe the one that you are working on is corrupt.

Corrupt! Ah, yes, now that is likely. I have been making so many changes
and trying so many things it is probably confused. I will start with a new
doc. This may be the exact solution.

Thank you.

Thank you, GM. If starting over doesn't work, I may give your calendar
instructions a try. By the way, interesting website.
