Thanks, but there is not enough space on the page to insert a break. If I
insert a break, the form goes into two pages, which I want to avoid. thanks "Graham Mayor" wrote: Insert a section break (or breaks) between the protected and unprotected areas and protect only the sections you want protexted. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org da wrote: hello Is there any way I can password protect only select rows in a form? If you're looking only for protection of certain rows against editing and
not "protection for forms", and if you and all the people who will edit the document use Word 2003 or later, there is a way. Open the Protect Document pane (Tools Protect Document in 2003, Review Protect Document Restrict Formatting and Editing in 2007). Check the box for "Allow only this type of editing" and set the dropdown to "No changes (read only)". In the document, select everything from the start of the document to the end of the table row before the ones you want to protect. Check the box in the Protect Document pane, under Exceptions, for "Everyone". Then select everything from the start of the row after the ones you want to protect through to the end of the document, and check "Everyone" again. Click the Start Enforcing Protection button. Enter your password twice in the dialog that pops up, and save the document. What you've done is to protect the whole document against editing, but then made exceptions for all the parts outside the few table rows. If a user tries to type in the protected rows, the pane will open and tell them that the area is protected. If they click the Stop Protection button, they'll be prompted to enter the password. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. da wrote: Thanks, but there is not enough space on the page to insert a break.
