Default Merge Forms

I am trying to use the "INSERTFIELD" code into a form document and am asking
it to go to a specific file directory to insert a document saved there in the
database. The variables are the file number and group. My database
connection person is unable to help. Would you please help me? Thank you.

Do you mean an "INCLUDETEXT" field?

Normally you can only include a file from a normal file in the file
system (or maybe at a URL such as an HTTP URL). What type of database
are you using? Is it a document management system of some kind?
Typically I would expect to have to extract a document from such a
database and make a copy in the file system before it could be included.

Or have I got the wrong idea?
