Hi, I have got a new Sony Vaio Notebook (following a burglary), with Windws
Vista Home Premium (32-bit) and have reinstalled Microsoft Office 2007 (Professional), which I had been using on my previous computer. However, Word is performing so incredibly painfully slowly. It opens fine, but when I type, it is taking such a long time for the typing to appear. I am a reasonably fast typist, and Word seems to be at least a few sentences behind me. It is incredibly frustrating! I never had this problem previously, and was then also running Vista and Office 2007. So I am not sure if it is a computer problem or a hardware or software problem?? From the research I have done so far on the internet, I have found notes about Word 2007 running slowly when McAffee Security Centre is on the computer. I have even tried downloading and running the appropriate Hotfix, but this has made no difference at all. (On my old computer, I was running Norton, and this is the only significant difference between the 'before' and 'now'.) Has anyone else had this problem, or know of anything else I can try? It is pretty much driving me crazy everytime I try and use Word! Thanks, Kylie Thanks, Kylie |

If you believe that McAffee is the problem, does it have an Office plug-in?
If it does, turn it off. Or get rid of McAffee and use something that does work eg AVG - http://free.avg.com/download-avg-ant...s-free-edition, but don't install the Office document checking option. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Kylie wrote: Hi, I have got a new Sony Vaio Notebook (following a burglary), with Windws Vista Home Premium (32-bit) and have reinstalled Microsoft Office 2007 (Professional), which I had been using on my previous computer.
