Hi,
I am writing my Ph.D. dissertation with Word 2003.
I want to add different numbering to the preface pages and to the body of
the dissertation. I divided the document to sections, and succeeded to have
different numbering for the different sections.
However, when I try to remove the page numbering from the first section -
all numbering is removed, and when I try to insert numbering only for the
second section - all numbering are added.
It seems that I cannot break the connection between the sections.

Any ideas?

In the section where numbering begins, click on the "Link to Previous"
button to turn it off. Then go back to the previous section and delete the
page numbers.
